The  2nd International Symposium on Sensors and Instrumentation in Internet of Things Era (ISSI) took place in August 29-30, 2019, in Lisbon, Portugal.

The need for realization of this event was identified by different experts on Sensors and Instrumentation taking into account the diversity and advances in MEMS and NEMS manufacturing, RF sensors, optical sensors as well as signal processing, networks communications or artificial intelligence that may facilitate the developments and implementation of effective, efficient, sustainable, and often at lower cost Internet of Things (IoT).

Over 60 delegates from 14 countries attended the event making it an important symposium of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society in the fields of sensing, instrumentation and measurement.

The first edition was held in 2018, in Shanghai, China. By comparison with the first edition, this year’s conference was pleased to announce a set of special sessions organized by remarkable researchers. The special sessions allowed in-depth discussions on niche topics. There were three special sessions in the symposium program on topics ranging from smart healthcare to power harvesting for IoT.

The participants had a memorable, pleasant and rich on knowledge experience at this meeting.
